Chocolate Rum Balls

chocolate rum balls Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of butter or margarine cut into pieces
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups of crushed sweet biscuits
  • 1 cup of finely chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup of chocolate or 3 tablespoons cocoa
  • 2-3 tablespoons of rum

As their name says, chocolate rum balls cookies contain rum and chocolate, obviously. But if made for children you can leave rum out altogether. This cookie is not baked so alcohol taste is not lost.
No two recipes are the same, so it is true for chocolate rum balls also. These rum balls are rolled in sugar but it can also be coconuts for example.

I'll start with cutting margarine into pieces and adding chocolate bars. Now when you got it all in the bowl, put it in the microwawe but be carefull not to burn it. This mixture needs to be just warm enough to melt.

Now you need to add crushed biscuits and sugar into the mixture.

Now that the cookie starts to get it's color and soon we will try to get the shape too.

It is not a problem to create balls if the mixture is wet and then sugar sticks easily. That's it, easy isn't it?
